Submit

UNLV employees may submit news by signing in with their ACE account. Students who would like to submit announcements they may ask an employee to do so on their behalf. Messages are sent to students in a digest email on Saturdays. Drafts are due on the preceding Wednesday to allow for enough time for review and moderation.

Message field

Fill in the following fields:

  • Subject: Make sure your subject is specific and informative.
  • Category: Select the appropriate category (announcement, event or deadline) from the drop down menu.
  • Content: Remember that brief is better. Your message cannot exceed 3,000 characters including HTML formatting and punctuation.
  • Recipients: Select the appropriate class(es) of students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduates and professionals). Graduate students include those enrolled in master's and doctorate programs. Professionals include dental and law school students.
  • Send: Choose "Saturday” under most circumstances. Select “Today” only if there is an extremely urgent message regarding campus operations that day. You must include a "Note to Reviewer" explaining the urgency, and indicate whether or not a university administrator or office is requiring the message go out. Note to Reviewer: Include information that will help for approvals. For example, if you are sending a survey that is part of a UNLV research project, include the IRB approval information. If you're advertising an event, list the sponsoring organization.
  • Link: Provide a web link if appropriate. Your Department: Select the department that employs you or is related to the announcement you want to send. Your message will go to a reviewer in that area.
  • Contact information: Include contact information so readers know whom they can call or email for additional information.
  • Submitter information: This information will not be public to students. It is for the reviewer, in case he/she needs clarification before the message is approved.
  • Submit: Click Submit to forward the message to a reviewer.
