Planned Network Outages, January 8 and January 13

Listen to this announcement

Brief network outages are planned Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Monday, Jan. 13 to replace network equipment that’s no longer supported by the manufacturer. This work is necessary to maintain the network's performance, reliability, and security.

Shadow Lane Network Outage, 8 p.m.-11:59 p.m. Jan. 8
Wired and wireless (WiFi) networks at the Shadow Lane campus will be temporarily unavailable during this maintenance window.

Campus WiFi Network Outage, 8 p.m.-11:59 p.m. Jan. 13
During this maintenance, eduroam, UNLV-Sponsored, and UNLV-PSK networks will be temporarily unavailable at the main campus, Shadow Lane campus, and off-campus locations. The Thomas & Mack Center and Medical Education Building won’t be impacted by this outage.

UNLV-Setup Replaces UNLV-WiFi
Starting Jan. 13, people need to use the UNLV-Setup network when enrolling their devices for eduroam, the official campus WiFi network. Introduced last summer to better reflect the network’s purpose, UNLV-Setup replaces UNLV-WiFi. When using UNLV-Setup, the process to set up eduroam remains the same, requiring an ACE login.

Anyone who experiences issues connecting to campus network services after the maintenance windows should contact the IT Help Desk. For more information, visit the WiFi network page on the UNLV IT site.
