New ACE Accounts Required to Use Okta for MFA
Announcement Body
Listen to this announcement
Starting July 24, anyone with a new ACE account will be required to use Okta Verify for multifactor authentication (MFA) when logging into campus applications.
With Okta Verify’s enhanced security features and one-tap push notifications, the MFA experience is faster and more secure. The move also comes as SMS text messaging is no longer available as an MFA option due to security concerns.
Returning students and academic faculty can switch to Okta Verify now with these easy enrollment steps before it’s required. If Okta Verify isn’t the best option, contact the IT Help Desk for another secure MFA option.
For more information about this project, check out the ACE Account Increased MFA Security Initiative page on the UNLV IT site.
