RebelCard Service Migration

Overview

The first phase of the project involves upgrading the technology behind RebelCard to Atrium, a modern and advanced platform for identification and credentials. This change will affect all campus customers who hold a RebelCard, including employees, students, and emeritus staff. The completion date for the first phase is set for May 14, 2024.

Why are we doing this?

The decision to migrate the RebelCard system’s underlying platform is driven by the university's commitment to enhancing the campus experience for all members of our community. By transitioning to a modern, advanced platform, we aim to:

  1. Improve convenience: Atrium's features, such as streamlined access control, efficient event check-ins, and improved attendance tracking, will make everyday life on campus more convenient for students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Enhance access control: The upgraded system will provide a more secure environment for all RebelCard holders, ensuring that access to facilities and services is properly managed and monitored.
  3. Enhanced Data Integration: The migration to the new RebelCard system helps us improve data connections between the RebelCard system and various university systems. These seamless integration will streamline processes, reduce manual data entry, and provide comprehensive insights into campus activities, enabling data-driven decision-making and resource allocation.
  4. Prepare for the future: Atrium's cloud-based infrastructure is designed to scale and adapt to the changing needs of our university. This upgrade lays the foundation for future improvements, such as the introduction of RebelCard on your smartphone, which will further enhance the convenience and flexibility of the RebelCard.

Ultimately, the system migration for RebelCard is a step forward in our ongoing efforts to create a more connected, efficient, and secure campus environment that creates the best experience for our faculty, staff and students.
