New Storage Limit for Rebelmail Will Begin August 16

On August 16, OIT will implement a new storage limit of 15GB for all Rebelmail accounts (@unlv.nevada.edu).

Why is Rebelmail Storage Changing?

Google has announced new storage limits for Google Workspace for Education, and setting a Rebelmail storage quota is the next step in preparation for this upcoming change.

What Do I Need To Do To Prepare for This Change?

If you have a Rebelmail account, please sign into the account and review your storage usage and delete Gmail messages and Google Drive files that you no longer need.

What Happens If My Account Exceeds the Storage Quota?

If your Rebelmail account has exceeded the storage capacity, you will not be able to create new documents, edit existing documents, or upload files to your Google Drive and you will not be able to upload new photos or videos to Google Photos. You will still be able to view and download your existing files and photos.

Your Gmail will not be impacted and you can still send and receive new messages, including those with attachments.

Extra Storage for Existing Large Rebelmail Accounts

To minimize this change's impact on existing larger Rebelmail accounts, we will be granting extra storage to existing larger Rebelmail accounts. OIT has already notified impacted Rebelmail account holders with additional information.

If your academic needs require additional storage capacity, you can complete the Rebelmail Storage Request Form to request additional storage. Requests are considered on an as-needed, individual basis.

Thank you for your understanding and your help in reducing our storage usage. Please visit our Google Workspace storage knowledge base article for more information on this upcoming storage change.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please reply to this message or contact the IT Help Desk.
