Business Admin WorkStudy - Student Worker

Dual Duties include: Accounting:

The Business Admin. The student worker will regularly review OIT shared email and analyze financial documents pertaining to the vendor’s invoice. They will validate if the vendor statement (invoice) belongs to the Office of Information Technology. They will also be responsible for forwarding the invoice to the correct department at UNLV. They will also be responsible for regularly updating Footprints (OIT Ticketing System) per financial information. The person will sometimes be relied upon on contacting vendors for invoices and processing transactions in Workday during the year-end process.

Procurement: The Business Admin. The student worker will regularly monitor and update tickets in the Footprints system, assigned to procurement with current/pending actions. They will review the tickets to see if any action has been taken or is pending next steps by the customer. They will also review travel documents to ensure they are complete and update corresponding tickets. The student will have to reach out to OIT staff for accurate and complete documents. Good internal and external customer service is preferred.

Other: The student worker will sometimes act as a back-up to assist other student roles. These duties may include but are not limited to Front desk customer support, document handling, and administrative support.

Hourly Rate: $9.00 based on experience

Classroom Support Technician (CTS)

Job Responsibilities/Details
  • Installation and support of various Computer, Audio/Visual, and IT equipment in classrooms around campus; including Win10 desktop workstations, web and document cameras, Blu-ray players, video projectors, UNLV licensed software, microphones and other related technologies.
  • General help desk support including client correspondence via email and phone, generating help requests, ticket tracking, documentation and follow up.
  • Conduct training sessions with university instructors, as needed, on proper operation of classroom technology equipment and services.
  • Interaction with senior members of the team including other OIT departments, as needed.
  • Offer consistently excellent customer support and service.
  • Good communication, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills are a plus.
  • Abide by all University rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Training provided.
  • Many shifts available. Office hours are 8:00a – 10:00p Mon – Thur and 8:00a – 5:00p Friday.
Required Qualifications
  • Be able to meet student worker eligibility criteria, including enrollment in 6 or more credits at UNLV for each semester of employment and a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism at all times
  • Have a valid driver’s license

Pay start's at $9.00/hr depending on experience.

IT Help Desk (CS)

The IT Help Desk assists faculty, staff and students with most technology accounts (UNLVMail, Rebelmail, WebCampus, ACE, Wireless, etc.) and with computer technical support. We are looking for hard working; customer service oriented and motivated individuals. Work schedules are flexible and studying is acceptable during quiet times. We provide training on various computer and support skills!

Lab Monitor (ITS)

We're always looking for helpful lab monitors. Interested students should have some knowledge of Microsoft Office, Rebelmail, WebCampus, and Web browsers (Firefox, and Internet Explorer). Lab monitors maintain lab security, ensure patrons can access the hardware and software provided within the lab, answer phone calls, monitor printers, and care for the overall appearance of the facility.

This is a good opportunity for you to brush up on your computer skills, help students with computer questions, and get paid for it. Hourly rate starts at $9.00/hr. ($9.75/hr starting July 1, 2021)

Office Assistant 1

Job Duties

Job duties of the Office Assistant 1 include:

  • Opening the front desk at the start of business
  • Answering the front desk phone and transferring calls as needed
  • Checking and distributing the office mail
  • Document deliveries/ Office Runs
  • Assist with on boarding new student employee hires
  • Maintaining the Supply Room inventory
  • Maintaining the distribution of the Office Carts
  • Closing down the front desk at the close of business


For all Domestic Undergraduate student employees:

RebelCard Office Support

RebelCard is more than official campus identification. Students, Faculty, and Staff can deposit money on their RebelCard and use it as RebelCash for dining on campus, for vending machines, and at a number of restaurants and shops both on and off campus.

RebelCard Office Support is responsible for making and replacing RebelCards and UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center cards while providing excellent customer service and promoting meal-plans, dining dollars, and RebelCash products.  Excellent customer service skills are required and cash handling and sales experience is preferred.

The RebelCard office is open:

  • Monday: 8:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

SE Student Support Administrator

Systems Engineering is seeking student employees to mentor in the area of systems administration. The candidate will assist the team in exemplifying the following core competencies:

  • Research & Development: The candidate will assist in conducting research on new technologies related to the team projects. They will be expected to provide briefs and reports on their findings to assist the team with decision making. Research will play a key role in the candidate’s development of technical expertise and will be vital in supporting the team’s customers.
  • Excellent Service: The team strives to lead technology initiatives to advance campus interests, as well as to continually improve relationships with our customers. This requires that the candidate actively listen to customers to understand their needs and assist the team in providing the best solution. The candidate must take initiative when performing their duties to ensure that the team provides excellent service.
  • System Administration: The candidate will work with team members on tasks related to systems administration in order to increase their knowledge of the team’s technology offerings. Job Duties

SE Student Support Administrator job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively maintaining communication with customers through phone calls, emails, ticketing system, and in person
  • Performing asset management of hardware and software owned by the team
  • Creating, modifying, and improving systems, process, project, and procedural documentation
  • Maintaining detailed notes and/or meeting minutes of team and customer meetings
  • Level 1 troubleshooting of support requests with the guidance of a senior team member
  • Preparing presentations for customer engagements
  • Assisting with project tracking using tools employed by the team
  • Proactively identifying areas in which the team can improve and providing management with feedback
Required Qualifications

Supply Support Specialist (OS)

The Supply Support Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to OIT support staff. Responsibilities include: customer service to internal and external customers, receiving/delivering computer equipment and parts, data entry, create and update work orders, inventory, and other assigned duties. Qualifications needed are working knowledge of Microsoft Word and excel. Must be very attentive and precise in data entry, dependable, organized, have good communication, customer service and writing skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Hourly rate starts at $9.50/hr.
