Classroom Support Specialist (CTS)
The classroom support specialist position is responsible for supporting faculty in their use of technology in the classroom. This position will take phone calls from faculty and try to resolve the call over the phone and if necessary then visit the classroom to further help the faculty member. Students interested in this position must have exemplary customer service skills, and a good grasp of technology. Hourly rate starts at $9.00/hr.
Computer Support Specialist (DFS)
The Computer Support Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting software and hardware problems involving workstations and peripherals. The applicant will need to be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Routine computer maintenance tasks will also be performed on a daily bases. Networking tasks that will occur are as follows: installation of Network Interface Cards, activation of network drop(s), setting up and troubleshooting of TCP/IP services, and coordinating with the Operations Center network diagnostics. On the job training will be provided.
Applicant must have a basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Good customer services skills are required. It is essential for Applicants to communicate effectively and listen perceptively with customers, management, and co-workers. Hourly rate starts at $10.00/hr. Work study is required. Lab Monitor (ITS)
We're always looking for helpful lab monitors. Interested students should have some knowledge of Microsoft Office, Rebelmail, WebCampus, and Web browsers (Firefox, and Internet Explorer). Lab monitors maintain lab security, ensure patrons can access the hardware and software provided within the lab, answer phone calls, monitor printers, and care for the overall appearance of the facility.
This is a good opportunity for you to brush up on your computer skills, help students with computer questions, and get paid for it. Hourly rate starts at $9.00/hr.
Student Network Technician (NDE)
Assist Network Development & Engineering (NDE) staff with maintenance, installation, upkeep, inventory control, tracking, replacement of network hardware, and office equipment. To provide excellent service, the employee will: listen to customer and understand their needs; demonstrate an eagerness to help; help customers solve problems; maintain a professional disposition; be approachable, respectful, and team-oriented; take ownership of inquiries and assignments; provide updates for customers; and be familiar with the basic operations of the university in order to serve customers effectively. Preferred freshman/sophomore class standing. Hourly rate starts at $12.00/hr.
Supply Support Specialist (OS)
The Supply Support Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to OIT support staff. Responsibilities include: receiving/delivering computer equipment and parts, data entry, create and update work orders, inventory, and other assigned duties. Qualifications needed are working knowledge of Microsoft Word and excel. Must be very attentive and precise in data entry, dependable, organized, have good communication, customer service and writing skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Hourly rate starts at $9.50/hr.
