What is the purpose of the classes?
Our workshops are designed to improve productivity. Contents range from application introduction to using advanced tools. Participants will learn new tools, learn how to use applications more effectively, as well as become more comfortable with them.
Who can take the classes?
Registration is open to all faculty and staff. Graduate Assistants are welcome to attend, too. Student workers are also welcome if the application is job related and they have supervisor approval.
What applications do you offer workshops on?
Workshops are primarily geared towards campus applications supported by the IT Help Desk, such as Office 2013 (or 2016) and Google's Application Suite (G-Suite). Watch the schedule for other specialized workshops, and feel free to suggest others!
Is it possible to train department groups all at once?
Personalized group training is a great way to allow your staff to get the training they need. Contact us if this might be preferred by your group. Additional group training sessions can be scheduled if we have the available instructor and classroom.
How long are the classes?
Most workshops are about two hours long unless otherwise noted.
Each application has two-hour sessions focused on specific topics. You may take one or more sessions, but it is always recommended that you them all in sequence for maximum benefit.
Where are the workshops held?
Workshops meet in room CBC-C307 unless otherwise noted. Class size is limited to 12.
What if I register and then am unable to attend?
We all have busy schedules! If you are unable to attend, please call the Help Desk at 895-0777 or e-mail ITHelp@unlv.edu. Provide your name, the class, and date that you are cancelling. Often there are waiting lists for the workshops, so your consideration might mean that someone else can attend instead.
Where can I get more information about the classes?
Call the IT Help Desk at 895-0777 - we will answer your questions or connect you with the Training Coordinator.
