UNLV InCommon Information

UNLV is a member of InCommon, which is a federation of U.S. education and research communities that provides a secure and privacy-preserving trust fabric for research and higher education. This membership allows you to access to many online resources. For a searchable list of members, including service providers, see: https://www.incommon.org/community-organizations/

When you arrive at most InCommon service provider sites you will be given the option of logging in to access resources only available to InCommon members. There may be several ways of logging in. In some cases, you will be logged in automatically. Sometimes you will see a login window. In other cases, you must scan the page for a “Log in” text or icon that you can click on to get a log in screen. Once you get to the login screen, select the option labeled something like "Access through your Institution." You will then usually see a pull down to select your institution. The list of institutions is very long, but you can almost always begin typing “University of Nevada.” By the time you type the “v,” in "Nevada" you should have the choice of two institutions, UNLV and UNR. In some cases, after you log in you will be asked to provide additional information to set up your account for the first time.
