Spring Semester Success: Stay Connected in 2021
As students, faculty, and staff prepare for another semester, the Office of Information Technology would like to highlight a list of materials and resources to assist students so they can have a successful learning remotely experience.
A limited number of computer labs are open on campus for students to use throughout the semester. These labs have reduced hours of operation. Additional guidelines, like printing in computer labs, are also in place.
Study spaces are designated locations for students to study or take a remote class while on campus. Students are required to bring their own technology devices to use in these rooms.
Technology Loan Program
The UNLV technology loan program allows students to borrow technology for remote learning, like laptops, for the duration of the semester.
Cox Cares Program
In partnership with Cox Communications, students in need of internet access for remote learning may be eligible to receive discounted internet service through the Cox Cares program.
There are a variety of tips and tutorials available for the technology that students may encounter throughout the semester. These resources help students get started with tools like WebCampus, Webex, and Panopto.
IT Help Desk and New Chatbot
The IT Help Desk now has a chatbot, named Scarlet, for students to get technical support 24 hours a day. Customers can ask questions related to password resets or WebCampus information without having to go to campus or wait in line.
RebelCard also offers their own chatbot for student questions, as well as other resources on how to create your student ID and add cash online.
More information can be found on the learning remotely webpage.
