Connectivity is critical to today’s educational experience, and for some students, that can be a challenge. To help bridge the digital gap, UNLV is partnering with Cox Communications to provide students with discounted home internet access.
The Cox Cares program is available to currently enrolled students who are not Cox internet subscribers. With no credit checks, installation costs, or contracts, students can choose from two internet packages.
The Cox Cares 1 plan is $30 a month. It includes up to 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds. For $40 a month, the Cox Cares 2 package features 50 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds.
UNLV is partially supplementing the costs to assist students in accessing their online and remote courses. The $30 subsidy is valid through Dec. 31, 2021.
Students who are interested in the Cox Cares program must submit an application, which is available on the UNLV Cox Cares website.
