Username changes can only be granted for one of the following reasons:

  • You have legally changed your name and the change has been processed by:
    • For Students: Office of the Registrar (Contact 702-895-3443)
    • For Employees: Human Resources (Contact 702-895-3504)
    • For those with dual roles: You must contact both the Office of the Registrar and Human Resources
  • You have received harassing or stalking emails that have not been resolved through other means. If the conflict is with a UNLV student, please notify the Office of Student Conduct 
  • The email address or ACE ID created through the automated process is considered offensive.

If your request is approved, please note the following UNLV usernames will be changed: 

  • ACE (Computing Account)
  • Rebelmail
  • UNLVMail
  • eduroam Wireless
  • Webcampus
  • Webex

Please provide two suggestions for your new username. Usernames are subject to approval and availabilty and are not guaranteed. 

  • Username cannot exceed eight characters
  • Username should be a combination of your first and last name, numbers may also be used
  • Use of special characters (!@#$%^&*(){}:”<>?/\|*-+) is not allowed

    • For Employees: Human Resources at (702) 895-3504
    • For dual roles: contact both the Office of the Registrar and Human Resources
  • The e-mail address or ACE ID created through the automated process is considered offensive.
  • You have received harassing or stalking email, unresolved through other means. If the conflict is with a UNLV student, please notify the Office of Student Conduct 

You have not met the necessary criteria. The request has not been submitted.

Approval Process

All requests are subject to verification and will be denied if the criteria are not met.

If your request for a username change is approved, you will be contacted by phone with your new username. Files and passwords will not be affected by the change.
