As courses begin, please review the following changes and reminders to help you start the semester successfully.
New Features Enabled
A new rich content editor (RCE) was enabled over winter break, with new ways to insert links, images, and files into announcements, assignments, discussions, pages, quizzes. Please visit Canvas's new RCE guides for instructors for more information.
Additionally, the Student View button has been moved on your course Home page and now appears as the eyeglass icon in the upper right.
Start of Semester Checklist and Course Availability
For useful tips on making sure courses and your devices are ready for the new semester, please review the Instructor Start of Semester Checklist. While courses are available to students one week prior to the start of the semester, instructors may unpublish their courses while updating materials. Until the course is published, it will not be visible on students' dashboards.
Known Issues: Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor
We have identified several known issues with Canvas and LockDown Browser, including images not appearing in Canvas tests in both Safari and LockDown Browser. Please visit our WebCampus Known Issues page for more information on known issues and workarounds/fixes.
If you have copied exams that required LockDown Browser and Monitor (webcam) from previous courses: Please be sure to click on the LockDown Browser link in your course menu to associate your Spring course with the Respondus Monitor database. This will resolve errors your students may have trying to start an exam that requires a webcam.
